The Volna app
Volna turns your speech into text on your Mac. Your audio and the recognized text are processed on your Mac, and your history and your dictionary are stored on your Mac. The app sends none of them anywhere.
When the app uses the internet
The app connects to the internet for two things only:
- Speech models. Volna downloads its speech models from
huggingface.co. Once a model is on your Mac, recognition works offline. - Updates. Volna asks
updates.ivolna.comwhether a newer version is available.
Neither request contains your audio, your text, your history or your dictionary. As with any connection on the internet, the server you connect to sees your IP address.
This website
ivolna.com uses no cookies and no analytics, and it loads nothing from other companies: every file comes from ivolna.com itself.
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any host, Cloudflare processes standard request logs (such as the IP address, the time and the page requested) to deliver the site and keep it secure. We do not keep request logs of our own.
Changes
If what Volna or this website does with data changes, we will update this page and its date.
